Every other Friday is different for us. We have a slow Friday and a busy Friday. Today was supposed to be our busy Friday, but it has turned out to be a slow Friday, which is okay. Every other Friday, we do a co-op with two other families. We all contribute, in order to keep it a no cost co-op. Don't get me wrong there are small costs involved. We take turns hosting at each other's homes, so we provide snacks and whatever craft/activity is going to be involved. Since it is small, we can manipulate the schedule and not feel terrible if something comes up and we have to reschedule, or skip it all together. Which has happened this year, due to illness, it seems like a lot of yucky stuff has been going around. Thankfully, my family has not had it any of it yet. Knock-on-wood.
Our busy Friday, is our geography co-op day. We meet in the afternoons from around 1:30 to 3:30pm. On our busy Friday, the work load (at home) is lighter. Our slow Friday (no co-op), is a regular work load. Today, ended up not having our scheduled co-op. but I am not increasing their work load. Sometimes, you just need a relaxed day. That is one of the great things about homeschooling, we can choose and rearrange the schedule to work around our families needs, just as long as we get in 180 days per year. So my 4th grader's schedule today looked like this:
Math: Math Lessons for a Living Education - Lesson 25, exercise 5
Grammar: Easy Grammar
Reading: None, because of our planned co-op day. He has been reading Swiss Family Robinson and is loving it.
Spelling: Test
History: Not scheduled today. We have been studying George Washington and the Revolutionary war recently.
Science: Easy Peasy Science, Level 4, Year 2, Day 57
Character: Not scheduled - I have been reading them He Chose The Nails by Max Lucado. I know it may be a little over their head, but they like it, and it is good for them to hear my read out loud.

Geography: Road Trip U.S.A - We have been studying South Carolina and Tennessee the past two weeks.
Art: Yes - Today whatever they wanted to do.
Copywork: Not scheduled today. We do copywork, as a way to improve writing, handwriting and style.
Our day today has been pretty relaxed. Amazingly, my son was up at 6 a.m. this morning and had almost all of his work done by 9 a.m.. They can't get on their tablets or computers to play, until all their schoolwork is done, and they have done some of their chores. Being that it is a Friday, he must have really wanted to start the weekend as early as possible. Good for him. Initiative is a wonderful thing.
I have linked to a few sites in this post, these links are not affiliate links. I just really enjoy Easy Grammar, so I linked directly to their website, for easier informational use.
