Connections Academy Indiana; Ready, Set, Go! We made the leap, whether it is the right choice or not for our family we will find out. Sometimes you have to leap and hope for the best, this is how we learn. In order to gain something great, you have to take a risk. With the way the education system is headed, I figure I can't do any worse. Granted, my daughter has always been luck and had great teachers. My son, had a horrible Kindergarten teacher, and a great 1st grade teacher. I am not blaming the teachers for the education system, they are just doing their job, unfortunately the federal government has decided they know what is best for our kids. I don't agree.
This fall we will be doing Indiana Connections Academy. Yes. I am terrified. I am constantly second guessing myself, but I am not letting those negative voices win this time. My kids are too important. Of course it would help qualm my fears if I had 100% support. I understand, that for some in the older generation this is a completely new concept and some people aren't good with change, nor do they want to accept or understand it. I am hoping we can prove them wrong.
Today I completed the "learning coach" orientation, with 3 kids, two of whom can't go five minutes without fighting. It was a little lengthy, a bit juvenile in tone, but overall it covered a lot and I believe will be helpful. I also have scheduled their classes for the upcoming school year, and I think it is going to be good. Of course, nothing in our house runs smoothly - so I expect a rocky transition. Hope for the best, expect the worst. I am going to try and write a weekly update, to let other people know how it is going. I tried searching for blogs on Connections Academy from actual families experiences, but could not find hardly any. I am hoping this is helpful to future families looking at Connections Academy.
Wish us luck! Prayers wouldn't hurt either.
