I love my Fitbit! I have the Charge HR. It monitors everything including heart rate, which is really great to have, especially when you are trying to do a HIIT workout. For those of you not in the know (I wasn't once either), HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, and it is a great stress busting workout. We also, just recently purchased Beach Body Streaming, for our Roku. We bought P90X and Brazil Butt Lift a few years ago. Beach Body definitely makes the best DVD workouts.

When I first planned to homeschool, I naively thought I would have all this time to exercise. I knew I would have more time, than when I was working and shuttling kids back and forth to school. Go ahead, laugh. I can laugh at myself, it is one quality my parents made sure we all had. To all the moms who think we homeschool moms have it easy, that we sit at home on our butts, eating bonbons all day; think again. Deciding to stay home and homeschool, is a full-time job. Yes, it is one I chose, but it is definitely not as easy as my old naive self thought it would be. It isn't easy, but it has been the most rewarding challenge I have ever taken on. Now on to the title at hand.
Christmas morning, we were opening gifts at my parents. One of the gifts from my husband, was the Fit Bit Charge HR. I was ecstatic! This, I could handle. The default step goal, is 10,000 steps per day. No problem, right. Homeschooling and trying to Fit Bit your steps in are almost impossible some days. My step goal is now 11,750 steps per day. It is currently 9:11pm and I have only gotten in 8,735 so far. No, I haven't been sitting hardly at all, all day. Shuffling between a 7-yr-old, a 10-yr-old and a 14-yr-old during the day is hard to find time to get a walk or run in. All the while, my 7-yr-old runs around doing his ninja moves and sound effects in between me helping the other two. I should let him wear it, he would probably have 11,750 by noon. I have routes and laps mapped out in our house, that I follow, when I have time. I set the handy dandy little timer on my Fit Bit and walk fast, plus do stairs, for at least 10 minutes at a time. If you have a Fit Bit, and you homeschool, how do you get your steps in? Without feeling rushed.
Gorgeous weather also helps. Today was absolutely beautiful, sunny and warm. I am working on making sure to get some downtime, every mom needs downtime. I am using my bragging rights, I exceeded my step goal today. Below is a picture of my current FitBit. Not the best photo, not very easy taking a photo of your own wrist.

I know, I know. There are professional FitBit users, that make my numbers above look like child's play. For a homeschool mom of 3 kids, any day I get over 15,000 is super exciting. If you have a FitBit what is your daily average and what is your daily best?
