It takes all kinds to make the world go around, and that is a good thing for the most part. Lately, it seems like this newer, younger generation is ridiculously hypersensitive. It is the new "In" thing to be easily offended. I am tired of it. This generation needs to grow up. You, Me, We are going to go through life daily, meeting rude, offensive people. Deal with it. The thing that I find is funny, is that it is tolerant to accept the immoral and celebrate it. Yes, I am venturing into controversial territory. I may even offend some people, if you don't like it, don't read it. I don't expect everyone to share my viewpoints, life would be boring if that were the case. It is bigotry to celebrate and encourage moral behavior and patriotism. How did we let our country nose dive so fast. Which brings me to the following picture, supposedly, making the rounds on the internet. Over political correctness is going to ruin our kids, actually its not going to it has already started.
If any children dressed like this show up at my door, they are going to get extra candy. I would like to know how being dressed as a historical character is racist? How is being a soldier promoting violence? To me it is bravery, we owe our continued freedom to these soldiers. They are the ones fighting so that this generation can have continually hurt feelings over every and anything. They are heroes, we should be glad our kids look up to them. How is it sexist for a girl to want to be a cop? Yes, I understand the fact that a girl doesn't have to wear a dress, if she wants to, who cares. How in the world does being a superhero make you an ableist, or being a princess objectifying? How does a Pirate promote rape culture? These are little kids costumes we are talking about. They don't know what "Rape Culture" is. Some girls like being princesses, they just like being pretty. There is nothing wrong with that. Just like there is nothing wrong with a boy playing with dolls once-in-awhile. Heck, my boys still let their sister paint their toenails sometimes. That doesn't mean they want to be a girl. They are all boy, they just love it when their sister spends time with them, even if that means getting their toenails painted.
We need to let kids be kids. Let's not drag them into this politically correct crap storm. They just want to pretend, let's not ruin a childhood over an agenda.
